DAA (D-Aspartic Acid) is an exciting new supplement that is found in small amounts naturally in the food supply and in the body where it acts as a signaling molecule for the production of testosterone. Human studies of DAA have shown significant increases in cyclic AMP (cAMP) , luteinizing hormone (LH), and testosterone, as well as the production of hormones oxytocin and vasopressin.

In one published study of men aged 27-37, those taking an oral dose of 3.12 grams of DAA for 12 consecutive days increased average circulating blood levels of LH by 33% and testosterone by 42%, compared to a placebo.

Note that the more common L-Aspartic Acid does not have the properties of DAA. DAA aparently works on the Ledig cells in the testes (which may decline as men age) similarly to Long Jack and Tribulus, but more directly. Some have suggested taking Avena sativa, nettle root, and estrogen blockers with DAA. May work synergistically with other testosterone boosters such as ZMA. The L-dopa in Mucuna may help to inhibit vasopressin production and increase release of Growth Hormone. DAA has sour taste. Best diluted in water.
