Arabinogalactan
ARABINOGALACTAN, (AG), is a FDA approved soluble fiber from Larch trees also found in some grains & vegetables, and is the primary immune-stimulating compound in the herbs echinacea and curcumin. AG supports the immune system by promoting healthy white blood cell count and natural killer cell activity. Larch is the only source of AG without attached proteins and is easily extracted with just water. AG enters the large intestine undigested where it is completely but very slowly fermented by beneficial bacteria, increasing them, particularly Bifidobacterium, while making a less favorable environment for pathogenic bacteria.
