	CLICK PICTURE TO SEE DETAILS & CONDITION! Original Nativity sets came with few or many animals, and the early ones that we like to collect were made in Germany. The stables were often lost over the years. Larger animals (especially cows, camels, and donkeys) often were separated from the original nativity scene (probably from being played with by children) and are found by themselves in a scale that is hard to use with the small putz village displays. We have spent several years putting together some nice sets for you, with sensitivity to the age of the pieces, and appropriate scale. We think all the pieces in this particular nativity scene are probably circa 1920s. We believe all the people and the baby Jesus and manger were from the same nativity set. We paired them with a lovely stable and animals from the same or slightly earlier time period. All the pieces are stamped "Germany" except for the stable and camel. This is not to say that they all aren't German; often the stamping wore off over time, or the pieces never got marked in the first place. 	CLICK PICTURE TO SEE DETAILS & CONDITION! What's nice about this particular German nativity scene from around 1910 is that it is a compete set. We purchased it from a woman who said it stayed in her family with its original box all these years. It's a special set because all the original people, animals and accessories are there (except maybe a second sheep that is pictured on the box). All items except stable are stamped "Germany". It is priced accordingly, as there is wear on some of the figures, the cellophane "palm tree" has faded from green to beige, and one leg is missing from the donkey (the donkey stands on his own on 3 legs and can easily be positioned to hide the missing leg). The stables were often lost over the years. This is a very special nativity scene; the 6 adult figures are all from the same nativity set and are probably from around 1900. These figures have aged beautifully; there are few chips and blemishes, and the detailing is exceptional around the faces. We waited a year for the right baby Jesus to appear. This baby Jesus is unmarked, and looks to be from around 1900, so is a good match to the others. We paired the set to a stable, cow, and camel from about the same time period. All the pieces are stamped "Germany". It is interesting to note that many of the early German stables were splashed randomly with orange, green and white paint for a specific look.
